| The
orphaned, homeless victims of Orissa violence look to
you with tears in eyes and fear in their hearts. Minor
scarifies you make could help feed a hungry child, re-build
a burned down house, nurse a wounded woman, clad a half-naked
boy or buy and book for an orphaned girl. The
fanatic violence in Orissa has claimed at least 24 people.
It also burned down some 50 churches and 4,000 Christian
houses. The violence has rendered some 50,000 people
homeless, with thousands still living in forests fearing
attacks.
It is our Biblical mandate and responsibility
to wipe the tears of these poor, thousands of them women
and children, who underwent unspeakable horror and pain
because of their faith.
Parishes and individuals can sponsor rebuild
of a house, a church or education of child. You can
also make a one time donation. Your mite is highly valued
in this time of pain and suffering.
