God
calls everyone to love him with their whole being,
here and hereafter, which means that he calls
all of them to holiness, to perfection, to a close
following of him and obedience to his will.
In
the 19th century, through God’s initiative,
Jeanne Haze responded to God’s call and
thus the Congregation of the Daughters of the
Cross, came into being. Today, the Congregation
is in Belgium, Germany, England, Italy, Ireland,
Brazil, USA, Africa, India, Pakistan and Nepal.
It is not the death-filled Cross of Good Friday,
but the life-giving tree of resurrection which
makes the life of each daughters of the Cross
one of joy in the midst of suffering and helps
to give hope to all those with whom they come
in contact through education, nursing, pastoral
and social care.
Young women below 25 years of age are accepted
as candidates. Exceptions are always there. |
